America's original settlers endured much hardship to escape Europolitics. I believe most immigrants still come here for the same reasons, as well as the economic prosperity that democracy and capitalism have brought. Entrepreneurship, independence, ingenuity, risk-taking, contrarianism, are the fabric of our society.
Americans should not accept that crowned heads and dictators decide our course of action, by consensus or dictate. Those who defer to the UN solving problems facing America are attempting to absolve themselves of the responsibility to solve one's own problems. They actually place themselves squarely to blame for any deaths caused by actions or inaction at the UN.
The greatest internal threat to our liberal democracy is transnational progressivism preventing us from defending it, as you so astutely note.
Unfortunately, our enemies are not permitted such moral dilemmas.
