You have just described the EXACT state of affairs in Canada.
For some instances, leftism can help right the wrongs of the past, such as with funding education for impoverished aboriginal communities, but for the most part, it merely means abrogating any sort of national intererst (or vision, for that matter) to whatever the immigrants want.
Netanyahu was booed and cajoled in Montreal so badly, the police called off his speaking engagement. One Muslim arab stated "we won't let him speak in our city".
Last I checked, Canada, Quebec, and Montreal, are predominantely Catholic... about 80% in Quebec. Islamists are so vociferous in their condemnation and violent in their protests, they disrupt meetings and peacable gatherings all the time.
The point that bothers me the most, is the west has this blithe acceptance that it's ok to be swamped by another culture, and that anti-Judeo/Christian ethic is ok, but anti-Islamist ethic is racist/bigoted.
It never ceases to amaze me, that even the most right wing talk show on the airways up here, refuses to address the issue of the twisted morays of Islam and facist nature of Islamism.
I heard one commentator say that Canada is 30 years behind the violence and religious scism that is forming in Britain today, where Islamists infiltrate everywhere and destroy any sense of national identity whenever possible, driving a wedge between nationalists and leftists........ and running their agenda up the middle.
If this is the case, then I am guessing that the USA, with its blindness to groups like CAIR, AMC and others with blatant affiliation with terror, Islam, anti-semitism and Fascist tendancies, is about 10 or 15 years behind Canada with our over the top Political Correctness.
I think that the US, with its much stronger racial bias, even among liberals... combined with the permissive nature of your weapons laws, will blow up even bigger than Britain has and Canada undoubtedly will.
