"Globalthink's Perils" is right on target on the subject of the left's cult of white guilt and "minority" victimhood and its elevation of the group over the individual. Mr. Pipes does make one mistake. At the beginning he refers to "the U.S. government, with an over two-century record of forwarding human rights and defeating tyrants". Great as we and our principles are, that is a bit of a stretch. Our record on human rights is, famously, mixed. By making such an exaggerated claim Mr. Pipes gives the bad guys a free shot.
America is the best country in the world, and we are truly "the last, best hope of mankind". But we ain't perfect. To paraphrase Churchill, America is the worst country in the world, except for all the others.
