Look at the Republican platform of 2020

Reader comment on item: Why I'm Voting for Trump

Submitted by Adam Burczyk (United States), Oct 30, 2020 at 19:59

I take Daniel Pipes at his word when he asks us to compare the philosophy of the two major parties, as embodied in their platforms or manifestos. And behold -- the Republican Party of 2020 has NO guiding platform expounding the philosophy of the party -- for there is no idea animating the party beyond obeying the whim of Donald Trump. This election is not about comparing a philosophical contrast, this election is about whether a second Trump presidency will succeed in introducing full throttle Authoritarianism into the United States, poisoning its relationships with allies in Europe and Asia, and permanently destroying the norms of democracy.
