Stark Contrast of American Choices for Future

Reader comment on item: Why I'm Voting for Trump
in response to reader comment: Dilemma of America's Future

Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Oct 23, 2020 at 09:52

As it has already been said so many times in these waning days of political intrigue and harassment, America is at a cross roads; and the distinct possibility that America coming out of a COVID19 induced paranoia cannot be ignored. The dilemma inferred in the last post was made all the more dramatic in watching the second on stage debate between the incumbent President and his socio-democratic (so-called) contender, the former vice-president.
The facts are plain; the intentions expressed; none of which appear to bring any stress relief to the calamity that appears to be unavoidable: how does America have a chance to survive? Even if the polls close with a nod to the incumbent, the opposition does not appear willing to concede, neither relent on the attack on the freedoms and liberties of the American people; it IS promised by the neo-socialists in their fevered attacks on the Constitution - let the animosity towards the US Supreme Court be the tell. Judicial activism has always been the socialists' tool to undermine the legal processes of a legitimate government; and this time does not alleviate that concern.
No matter who won the debate, it is not over; no matter who is chosen (calling it an election at this point in time will still be debated long after January 2121), the fight to quarantine America's freedoms is never going to be quelled until the sense of liberty that got this country started is returned to the public square and there are way too many ungovernables with darkened visions of lawlessness to allow for that lately.
