Aren't ethnic Norwegians "ethnic" ? Why do Americans imagine only non-whites are "ethnic"?

This kind of odd thinking has gotten the West into a great deal of trouble. They imagine "sexists" are pro-men. They don't imagine "sexists" can equally be described as pro-women. They imagine "racists" as white people and don't imagine that a black man could be racist, certainly not an anti-white racist.

So when they hear "racism is bad", instead of rejecting racism, they picture a white anti-black (for example) man, and try to be as different from him as possible, which leads them to embrace anti-white racism.

When they hear "sexism is bad", they similarly try to be anti-male, because they use the term 'sexism' to refer only to being pro-male.

Using the term "ethnic" s though it refers exclusively to non-whites is inaccurate and harmful.
