Cultural IssuesReader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark? Submitted by A. Ahmado (United Kingdom), Sep 13, 2002 at 22:06 I feel that cultural issues like forced marriages should not be attributed to Islam, but to traditions of Indo-Asia. Unfortunately many Muslims in India and Pakistan have imbibed this tradition (and many others including wedding ceremony rituals) from non-Muslim Asians. Forced marriages described in your article do not exist in my home country at least!Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
