It's Not Islamic Holidays That I Object To: Response to Danielle MackeyReader comment on item: Which Privileges for Islam? Submitted by Don Castella (United States), Mar 18, 2005 at 15:00 In response to the comments of Danielle Mackey, with all due respect:I invite Ms Mackey to invest in a calendar from an Islamic country. I am quite sure that ONLY Islamic holidays will be listed, since public observance of any other religious holidays is EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED in most Muslim countries. She appears to be ignoring the publicly stated goal of groups like C.A.I.R to replace our Western religious pluralism with the relgious apartheid Islam demands. Americans and others justly hold grave concerns about any religion or cult that promotes a single totalitarian political ideology above all others and seeks to become dominant over our lives. We Americans owe our forefathers a debt of vigilance against such threats for the hard-fought freedoms they shed their blood to so nobly pledge to us. While it is true that the vast majority of Americans believe in a Creator, only a small minority would recognize Allah as the God they worship. Still, our American constitution gurantees every citizen the freedom of conscience to worship as they choose. Further examination of the US One Dollar Bill reveals the Star of David inscribed in the cloudburst of the Shekinah Glory of the God We Trust, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that was over the Tabernacle. This engraved image commemorates the important contributions to the founding of America by Haim Slolmon and other Jews who assisted financially and spiritually in our fight for independance. So yes Danielle, we Americans do treasure our freedoms, our religious tolerance, and our equality... And, like our forefathers, we are prepared to fight, and even die defending them.
