What about Rifaat?
Reader comment on article: Lebanon's Liberation Approaches

I realize that this may be a very taboo subject, but what would Dr. Pipes say about Rifaat al-Assad replacing Bashar in a US or Israeli-led coup? A response to this comment would be quite informative to us all.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Rifaat al-Assad has pretty much disappeared from the political scene; I cannot imagine his being a future ruler of Syria.
