Lebanon is free, and Syria is out!
Reader comment on item: Lebanon's Liberation Approaches

Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Feb 23, 2005 at 17:11

Daniel Pipes got it right: it was that car accident that defined the future of Syria. And Lebanon is very linked to Syria, so it was also affected.

Lebanon is free, not from Israel, but from Syria. It does not get better than that. Lebanese of all religious beliefs and ethnicities are free.

The European left-wing has always been pro-Syrian and shame on them for that. I blame the left-wing for their disgusting support for Syria.

Now Lebanon is a free country and we shall all be happy.

Israel was always blamed for what went on in Lebanon. Syria was to blame.

I cannot figure out how those shameful European (and American) left-wingers could support the tyrannical and familist regime of Damascus.

After Iraq, Lebanon is on its way for freedom. And then it shall be Syria.

As good as it gets.
