Reader comment on item: Lebanon's Liberation Approaches

Submitted by Joseph ibin Beirut (United States), Feb 25, 2005 at 12:47

Dear Daniel

Yesterday night before i went to bed i had this idea of writing you to help us the Lebanese get out of this mess we have been cultivating for a long time now......those of us who live in lebanon are living an illusion and they have forgotten why and how we ought to live for ourselves independently and proudly independent.

in any way, it is time we ascert to our neighbors that we are no longer arabs and that the mere fact that we speak arabic does not translate in us wanting to be coming arabs....not anymore ....we ought to become lebanese once and for all......as for the syrians it will take them another 2000 years for them to be like us.....our differences are clear.....especially after this criminal death of Hariri ...we do not like the same music nor do we like the same harmonious tunes....we share nothing in common ......especially not what the dictator hafez el assad kept pounding us with his notion of hegemonity.

we are at the mercy of drug dealers terrorists and dirty liars.....the records of the past years would verify what i am talking about...there is nothing to negotiate anymore except a total withdrawal of syrians and lebanese politicians appointed by syrians out of lebanon.

it is necessary for the world to recognize that lebanese are hostages of the syrians .

if today israel and america do not help lebanon become free....of syrian occupation.....the region as a whole will pay the consequences....and the price will be relinquishing possession of the only key to the door of civilised freedom and democratie in the arab garbage arena of politics and power.

envy has become the fuel of democracy in this world ...today lebanon has to become the jewel of democracy in the region.....otherwise ....let turkey and israel invade syria and lebanon and let's get on with a new order ....in different states and free of scums...free of syrian garbage.

help us ...it is your duty to show us the way.... guiding us to liberation and freedom.

i feel good now that i wrote you.thank you for keeping an eye on us ...your neighbors at heart have been damaged by corruption and greed selfishly ignoring the people of the land and their needs.

one last question ....why do we need another office for palestinians to open up in lebanon?isn't hizbullah enough.....enough is enough.
