Hibernia, Phillistines origins

Reader comment on item: Gaza's Not the Key, Philadelphi Is
in response to reader comment: Zero connection between the Philistines and 'Palestine'

Submitted by sara (United States), Dec 5, 2012 at 17:42

Hi Hibernia,

I have read that the biblical references to the Philistines (in hebrew called pleshet, or divide) was to Egypt, and it is possible that they came from the sea and migrated to Egypt, or that they came from Egypt, Interesting to look into. What is clear is that, at that time Egypt had zero to do with Islam, and the current inhabitants of Egypt would certainly agree since they want to tear down the pyramids,.. and that the philistines had zero to do with whoever the Egyptians, Lebanese and other family connected inhabitants of today's Gaza.
