Reader comment on item: Reflections on Current Hamas-Israel Hostilities

Submitted by Dan (United States), Nov 16, 2012 at 00:56

A search for Hamas and Iran and weapons will show numerous articles detailing the constant flow of Iranian arms to Hamas and Hezbollah over the years. 80,000 Iranian missiles are in Lebanon alone, supplied under the watchful eyes of U.N. Peacekeepers. Those two proxy terror groups are weaponized pawns on the M.E. strategic board, which can be moved by their masters at will to cause chaos wherever and whenever wanted. And just as a single player in Pakistan can sell nuclear technology to Libya, a single Iranian player can and will sell, or just provide, those weapons to its proxies in time.

The current escalation by Hamas has the makings of an Iranian move, aimed to test Obama, test Israel's defenses and reactions, and cause a media distraction. For most of the mainstream media, a war is simply another form of entertainment for the masses which provides more exposure to its advertising, so you are right that it's a "media event." "If it bleeds, it leads," pure and simple. Just more photo ops.

The obvious fact that Iran is sacrificing more Palestinian lives in its quest for regional dominance is way, way beyond the MSM to understand. Nor is the MSM concerned, if aware, that Iran sent hundreds of thousands of their own children and old men to their death when they used them to clear minefields in front of rolling tanks during its war with Iraq. Hamas, like Hezbollah, are remote-controlled fully-armed sacrificial proxies. Until the U.S. media is able to take its eyes off the gladiator rings, and focus on the control-masters in the grandstand, there's little hope that the media will help prevent more bloodshed in the future.
