Each of the points was on target, but President Bush refuses to go all the way, and so nothing will be accomplished. He refuses to call the Saudis on their support of terrorists. The Saudis have an autocratic government that is perfectly capable of stopping the flow of funds, if it were so inclined. Too bad, it's not. All we hear are excuses and Bush lets them get away with it.
From where I stand, al-Jazeera is acting as a conduit for terrorists to deliver threats to the west. Someone is creating those tapes and delivering them to Arab press. Why is there no effort to trace the tapes to their source? Al-Jazeera is part of a criminal enterprise. Surely this network can be brought down.
Why can't we exact a price from our supposed Arab "allies" throughout the Middle East and Asia? Until UBL is delivered to an American or UN official in handcuffs, can't we put a moratorium on ALL visas to the US from all Muslim countries? As long as we let them play a double game, we will hear platitudes from them as they hand the terrorists money and materiel. Something has to give.
The West never declared war on Islam, but radical Islamists declared war on US a quarter century ago and we are letting political correctness hamper our response. If Islamists are willing to wage war, then we should be prepared to respond in kind.
Unfortunately, not even President Bush has the guts to go all the way.
