Bush the moderateReader comment on item: In the Mideast, Bush dared to be different Submitted by Rob James (United States), Oct 25, 2004 at 04:30 In all honesty, I had high hopes for Bush in regards to Israel and the middle east being a Christian Zionist, but I think partisan politics have effectively softened him a bit. I think a very ironic fact that perhaps only Saddam and Israel understand is that Arabs do not speak the language of diplomacy, they speak the language of the sword (Ramallah, Falluja etc.). I had hoped Bush, being a Republican, would've understood this; but his ideals for a free Iraq (even if Islamist, according to him) circumvent any aggressive attribute he once had.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
