Reader comment on item: Oklahomans Say No to Sharia
in response to reader comment: moderate muslims or christians

So then comes another definition: Moderate Muslims only exist in the west and the west alone. That's progress, at least there are moderate muslims as opposed to the "There are no moderate muslims at all" crowd.

There are of course Moderate Muslims all over the world.

Even Dr .Pipes rightly says so and who else argues credibly and is the best judge of that -

And I am not exactly thrilled on quoting the Koran because the bitter truth is that many of what bible says is repugnant.

Quite striking – what people do not see would probably fill a volume.

And the other parts are certainly untenable and of questionable value – who believes the world was created in seven days, or that the world is flat, or that all living animals all over the world fit in one boat in Noah's ark, and for that to happen how are animals say who are in Australia travel to the middle east and get on the boat?

Now you come to speak of it, if you'll excuse me for saying so, the fact of the matter is it is being taught in Roman Catholism that if one is not a Catholic, come judgment day, they will be going to hell. Only the true religion is the one to go to heaven, and they quote the bible. This is isn't exactly new. The same with Protestants. And the same with Judaism. Catholics say noncatholics are infidels. Protestants say nonProtestants are infidels. So does Judaism.

No different from the Koran and Islam or Islamism.

And I'm sorry to say, talk about sex with children and fornicate and lie – those are actually what many Catholic priests have done in the well known harrowing case all over the world of sexually abusing children. As it stands, one cannot sleep easy when children are around Catholic priests. They have an intemperate appetite for having sex with children. And then you have Baker – who fornicated and had sex with the secretary and several men. Then you have Swagart who had sex with a prostitute. The list goes on and it's particularly troubling because they are not marginal figures, people who simply go to church– they preach the religion.

So, a moderate Muslim is one who takes in the Koran much of the same way moderate Catholics, Protestants, and Jews take in the bible, which is moderately, ignoring the bible's baleful influence. I believe, however, correct me if I am wrong Dr. Pipes, that there are much more moderate Catholics, Protestants, and Jews, than moderate Muslims. That the case with Islam or Islamism is immeasurably worse, so much so that terrorism and Sharia are of exceeding concern.
