Sharia Voids Individual Rights

Reader comment on item: Oklahomans Say No to Sharia

Submitted by Mike Ramirez (United States), Nov 16, 2010 at 09:59

Allowing Sharia laws to govern Muslim citizens in America blatantly voids their rights as individuals. (1) Sharia prohibits a Muslim from choosing any other religion. Thus, the U.S. Constitutional rights of freedom of religion are voided. (2) Sharia prohibits a Muslim from publicly challenging or questioning the teachings of the Qur'an. Thus, the Constitutional rights of Freedom of expression are voided. Muslim-American citizens found guilty of either are subject to the penalty of death under Sharia laws. Conclusion: Muslim-American citizens will not be protected by the United States Constitution if Sharia Laws are allowed to be implemented as a co-governing system in America.
