WTF,O?

Reader comment on item: Oklahomans Say No to Sharia

Submitted by Richard Montgomery (United States), Dec 9, 2010 at 18:47

When I entered the US Army quite a few years ago, the pledge went something like,"Do you promise to protect and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States?" It has remained the same since the time of my father and his father - all persons entering the service or federal or state employment must swear to defend and protect the Constitution and laws of the entity they are being paid by.

I don't see why any judge, soldier, policeman or politician should have the right to consider any law or constitution other than ours when deciding upon what is right and wrong in our country.

Imagine what would happen if we insisted upon our "American rights" in Iran or any other country.
