It's not just Nestle's.Here in Australia we have a yeast-based spread that looks like axle-grease with a similar consistency. It's called 'Vegemite'. It's loved nationally by generations of Australians. It was bought out by KRAFT - a cpuple of years back. Kraft as far as I know is an American company.

Examination of the label will show it is now halal.

In one way this is in keepinbg with the rest of their cult - having to be told what they can and cannot do eat, believe etc BUt I think it's discriminatory - it's not labeled OK for budhhists, Hindus ,Jews or Sikhs , Jains, muslims, atheists, Theosophists - only muslims.

Seeing this halal labelling was instigated by KRAFT - what other KRAFT products that are available to American readers are similarly marked?

* title - sung to the tune of the Vegemite jingle
