I didn't understand much of his reply, you did a much better job. I really liked how you ended your comment: "And what of the many millions who have lived and tasted Islam - and abandoned it? and the many millions who would do so if they were given the choice?"

The ideas of apostates and choice. Islam does not allow for much tolerance in these two areas. These issues can easily be the source of violence. Can it be a surprise that organized violence in the form of warfare is so common?
