Daniel Pipes clarifies Middle East events and dangers as only he canReader comment on item: Insight into Obama's Middle East Policy? Submitted by Carol M. Fuller (United States), Jan 19, 2009 at 16:38 Some of the nine changes in the Middle East partly result from, or were encouraged by American policy. As Pipes says elsewhere we shouldn't be fighting "terrorism" but fighting "Militant Islam," emphasizing the fight as one against ideas. Even one so insignificant as myself has made an attempt in that direction with my book, "The Muslim Economic Trap." I think looking at matters through the lens of economic history and present-day economic conditions will help much more than Koranic quotes.
