Hamas calls for Israeli blood. This animosity is directed to the people of Israel as determined in the Holy Bible. The Quran says nothing about the thousand or so years of Islamic control in the Holy Land being lost by the Ottoman empire, nor does it explain the re-establishment of Israel, which is expected to last well beyond the expectation of the Quran.

Gaza appears to this reader to be a diversion, for the reticent Hamas leader directs his agency's activities from Syria, which is likely to nudge from Lebanon in the north next. Hamas has never called for peace for Israel, only 'hudna' when it appears to be the expedience of the moment. That appears to be incovenient at this time.
