Dr. Pipes, most of the times I agree with what you say in your writings. However I was amazed and shocked when you wrote that there is nothing in islam which is contradictory to democracy. I hope that it is just a politically correct statement by you and that you really do not believe it . Please read the article "Is Islam Compatible with Democracy" under Human Rights and Islam, by Dr. Ibn Warraq, at www.secularislam.org.
