GE Succumbs to CAIR

Reader comment on item: CAIR's Assault on Paul Harvey

Submitted by Arlinda DeAngelis (United States), Dec 24, 2003 at 09:21

GE would prefer to placate CAIR, an organization that lobbies to undermine our freedom of speech, endorses animal cruelty and that sought to silence and slander an American patriot and scholar on the Middle East whose critical analysis is only beholden to the standards of scholarship.

Perhaps GE forgot that CAIR's statements on September 11 always included a "but America is responsible for its foreign policy of always siding with Israel." Perhaps GE forgot that the condemnation by CAIR of terrorism was not forthcoming. The organization had to be asked if they condoned terrorism such was their militancy about Islam.

Perhaps GE forgot the American blood spilled for the militancy of Islam so beloved by CAIR. Perhaps GE forgot about September 11. Perhaps GE forgot about the Butcher of Baghdad and his Republic of Fear. Perhaps GE forgot aboout the American lives lost in Iraq for the cause of freedom and democracy. Perhaps GE forgot about CAIR's unmitigating love of Palestinian terrorism. Perhaps GE forgot that Paul Harvey has spent his life talking to America about matters for which America cares.

Never before CAIR has any sponsor threatened the broadcaster's livelihood by siding with an organization known for its belligerancy against the liberal democratic freedom loving peoples of Israel, the Patriot Act and/or any legislation that protects the American homeland. Perhaps GE forgot that the humane treatment of animals only exists in the liberal democratic west. Nowhere does it exist among the theocratic Islamic nations of the East so defended by CAIR. Perhaps GE forgot the Bill of Rights. Perhaps it is unimportant to GE.

What is a freedom loving American to do. What we do best, petition, petition and petition those that work against the public interest. And, a boycott wouldn't hurt either. Write to GE and let them know that the corporation was in error in sucumbing to the militancy of CAIR whose anti-freedom of speech is Un-American, whose record on the issues critical to American security has been dismal and threatening and to that stunning record CAIR has now added the promotion of the inhumane treatment of animals for the sake of entertainment.

I rather like a boycott of General Electric products. Perhaps that will make GE remember that which they so conveniently forgot.

Thank you Dr. Pipes for your vigilance in protecting the public interest. It is your advocacy for liberal democratic freedoms that we so enjoy that protects our rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that lobby groups like CAIR would like to see curtailed in the interest of protecting Islamists.
