My E-Mail to GE

Dear Mr. Sheffer:

As a longtime admirer of GE and a frequent purchaser of its products, I was dismayed to learn that, as a result of pressure from a special interest group, you withdrew your sponsorship of the Paul Harvey radio program. I would have thought that GE was principled enough to permit the airing of divergent views, which is in the American tradition. I would suggest to you that the best way to fight terrorism is to show that we Americans will behave like Americans. Your action is not in the American tradition.
