I actually favor the use of economic pressure to amplify political views. But these things cut both ways. You have done a service in revealing that GE was intimidated by the goons. Thus I will be careful to boycott GE products myself. Speech should be politically unrestrained, but need not be completely cost-free--a position most adamantly espoused by academics who believe they should have the unfettered right to say the most outrageous things, and yet still require that such irresponsibility be supported by tuitions and endowments. Courage is the attribute of one who speaks truth without regard to the economic costs.
