Moderate Islamists and western strategy.

Daniel Pipes ideas of finding and working with moderate Islamists is the key to preventing a huge bloodshed in the near future. Islam as such is very rigid and does not allow moderation or changes.

Fortunately, even religious people have enough common sense to set their religions aside and work with others to avoid mutual destruction. Ideally the world should see that religions divide humanity and we should attempt to weaken religious influences on the planet. Benedict XVI recently complained that people are abandoning religions .If he is right then we can hope that the world will be safe without the threat of the military clash of civilizations.

It is much better to abandon old ancient religious phantasies than to die defending imaginary gods, I hope that all sensible people could agree with the last sentence. regardless which faith they represent.
