Joshua Muravchik: the Walter Duranty of our times

I wish someone had noticed me or asked my opinion of the latest incarnation of that most incredible of travelers: the gullible journalist who winds up doing the bidding of a totalitarian state.

Mr. Murachik's version of life in Saudi Arabia, especially the Saudi government/royals, shows he was "taken in" by his handlers in the al-Saudi clan. The al-Saudis are experts on American journalists, in that they have had so many of them under contract to produce propaganda that, by now, their handling of Joshua Murachik was deft, clever, and artful.

I condemn in the most strong terms those idiots who think their Panglossian escapades qualify them as experts on one of the world's premier hell-holes.
