Dr. Pipes has merely written the whole historicity of the Phrase: Chicken coming home to roost.

One would have expected him to reason out why the phrase is not acceptable, unreasoanable and possibly malicious. To an untutored mind, the line of logic as to how violence at one place, time and practice could spread and produce its own offshoots would be natural progression of cause and effect reasoning. It is for Dr. Pipes to explain why it is not so. And no violence practice by America or Americans has produced any unwanted and unacceptable results.
