...EXTORTION. [Check the etymology, too.] And throughout history, the patterns and appetites of extortionists have been well-documented. Only, in the ancient and honorable past civilizations, TRIBUTE monies and gifts usually resulted in peace and a temporary cessation of pressure. For those who read this, the fable of Æsop about the lamb and the wolf should prove illustrative.
