The Koran
Reader comment on item: Preface
in response to reader comment: Dr. Delcamba

To Lawrence Bates,

you are trying to find the Koran in English, the Moslems say that their Allah does not know other languishes but Arabic. Moslems are against translating the Koran. All what they can do is to explain Koran in English or other languishes... Of course they are trying to change the meaning to present a peaceful and clean meanings to the West. When they try to translate the verses of Koran, they change the words of violence to present a lighter one.

For example, they change the word of killing, which came in the Koran a lot, by the word of fighting. The verses about the relation between the man and women changed because it will be very shameful to write the real translation in English. Mohammad, their prophet urges his followers to attack the infidels to kill them and captures their women to add them to their stock of women. Mohammad himself had about 65 women...
