Is Islam suicidal? Reader comment on item: Preface

I believe the majority of moslems are totally neutral to non-moslems and will follow any leader or movement that can promise them comfortable life. That seems to be true for people of any faith. Islam, like any other religion is not suicidal - it will inevitably tranform itself, slowly but surely, as long as its leaders clearly see the face of defeat every single day - political, economical, and, if necessary, if they continue to play stupid, a military defeat. And it is hard to imagine another outcome - Islamic countries are inferior economically and politically and Islamic ideology has clearly demonstrated to the entire world that it cannot win. It does not mean that moslems are inferior themselves, as people, just their system is inferior. And after years of defeat they will realize the ultimate choice - either change ideology or face destruction. It is just a matter of few generations.
