Short term appeasement, long term catastrophe

Reader comment on item: Where the Nazi "Big Lie" Endures

Submitted by T. Rajah-Balaji (India), Sep 20, 2007 at 02:06

What is written has been written well and at an appropriate time. But, the bitter truth is that like in the instance of the previous big case of appeasement like Munich etc., it will be believed, but not acted upon, as leaders today, like the leaders of Free Europe then, are bent upon short-term appeasement strategies of trying to avoid the unavoidable confrontation with avoidable platitudinous hopes that (they themselves do not fully believe in) they can moderate the malignancy of Islamism, only to push us of the Free World into the inevitable clash on terms of the Islamists when we are less prepared for it.

I'd like to read Joel Fishman's article in full. It contains patterns of the make-believe mind-set of the present leadership.
