Moderate Islamists?

Reader comment on item: Combating the Ideology of Radical Islam

Submitted by Neil Lewis (United States), Apr 15, 2003 at 22:52

Mr. Pipes says, "There is no such thing as a moderate Islamist, . . ."

Mr. Fuller says, "The solution is to support moderate Islamists even if . . ."

Assuming the comments were reported accurately, Mr. Pipes and Mr. Fuller seem to be on different pages. I agree with Mr. Pipes and responder Mr. Romanoff - "moderate Islamist" is an oxymoron - akin to "decent devil."
