I find it interesting when you say that "The war on terror is every single person's responsibility." This claim to an individual moral imperative to combat terror seems to bare an odd verisimilitude to "Radical Islamists'" transformation of jihad from a collective (state) duty to an individual duty--what Olivier Roy and others would term the new "sixth pillar" of Islam. If we buy the Bush Administration's rhetoric of "war on terror" than it actually wouldn't be an individual duty but a collective one. But perhaps what we have here is a clash--not of civilizations--but of fundamentalisms.
