Reader comment on item: [Mosque Mischief and] Counting Mosques

Submitted by C. Gruver (United States), Feb 17, 2003 at 16:00

Should it come to light that mosques were being targeted in the U.S. by international or domestic private organizations (or individuals) intent on terrorist actions against Islam as a whole, would not the AMC and CAIR 'brand' of organizations expect the protections afforded them under our constitution, and facilitated by the FBI and like agencies? Is it possible that they would expect the protection to involve the listing of mosques, to leave none outside the 'umbrella' of said protection? How loudly would they trumpet the charge of "institutional racism and bigotry" if an incomplete list led to tragedy at an unlisted mosque?

To mangle the age-old phrase: "If it looks like, walks like, and quacks like a duck"...let's watch the ducks and see which are 'mallards' and which are 'militants', for the protection of all. (Including the 'mallards'.)
