Reader comment on item: [Mosque Mischief and] Counting Mosques

You are right about Milan and London being centres of religious extremism. You are also right about the need to keep an eye on the main centres of such religious extremism. The police might indeed need to go tough on the main headquarters of Militant Islam in Britain, Italy and America. If that means that we need to keep an eye on the mosques, then be it. In a way, you are a lone voice against religious bigotry and religious fanaticism. Your views are respectable and I value your contribution to the debate on Militant Islam. We need people like you in Europe.

However, please caution your readers not to forget that most Muslims are very good people who moved to Europe/America because they wanted a better life. One can criticize Militant Islam without being Islamophobic and I think you are doing that quite well. Nevertheless, you probably need to stress the difference between law-abiding Muslims and the bigots. I am not a specialist on the subject and I might be wrong. My impression is that we need to stress the differences between the ordinary Muslims and the zealots, bigots, fanatics or whatever you choose to call them. For the rest, I completely agree with you.
