Reader comment on item: [Mosque Mischief and] Counting Mosques

Submitted by Arlinda DeAngelis (United States), Feb 5, 2003 at 01:38

The government should do more than count mosques. The Internal Revenue Service, under the 501 (c) (3) rule that prohibits any church or school from using its premises for political purposes, should take away their tax exempt status when mosques are used to preach the politics of hate.

Freedom of religion is paid for by the generosity of the American taxpayer. When a mosque abuses this privilege by violating the agreement not to espouse political causes then they should pay the taxes from which they are exempt.
