The term of choice for the CBC is...

"alleged conspirators" or "bomb-plot suspects". The term "terrorist" will appear (sometimes) if the CBC is quoting, say, a prosecutor who states what the charges are (the suspects have been charged with terrorist related offenses -- but, again, the CBC will not call the suspects "alleged terrorists" -- they are, according to the CBC -- "conspirators" or people who were plotting to set off bombs.)

The CBC has also been known to change a quotation -- hence, if the CBC quotes an Israeli official who uses the word "terrorists" -- there have been instances in which the CBC will change the word to "militants." A number of CBC announcers are also in the habit of referring to the "war on terror" as "Bush's so-called war on terror." I have to laugh...I have no idea what a "so-called" war on terror is -- or what they mean by this...
