Hi

Rather than go back and forth in endless interpretations of various Arab words, I suggest you read the Sira (Sirat Rasul Allah, The Life of Muhammad by Ibn Ishaq).

In this book you will find that by the clear example of Muhammad, 'Jihad' means war. Fully armed, relentless and endless war against all unbelievers, armed or not, with the intention of taking plunder (Quran 8:39) and subduing them (Quran 9:29).

That's it. Arabian grammar be damned.
