in response to reader comment: Quran does not belong to the Saudis

My dear Fahad how could you comment about a translation from a language (Arabic) to a second language (english) that is more likely than not is your first language?

I'm not very familiar with this Saudi translation but what I have read so far is not bad at all and I know my Arabic very well.

The worst translations of the Qur'an are those by Pakistanis and tableghees the likes of Yusuf Ali, and the worst one is: Yusuf Ali's translation. As far as I know there is a project going on in to correct the many mistakes in his translation.

But what do you expect from an Indian man who lived only in India and England and never lived in an Arabic speaking country and he had the audacity to translate an Arabic book to another language that was not his native tongue by any stretch of imagination and the result is a poor and tendentious translation.
