Reader comment on item: Hugging Iraq's Leaders

Submitted by Carmen Waggoner, Ph.D. (United States), May 4, 2006 at 08:32

Inappropriate hugging of Baghdad's leaders seems to have been the modus vivendi for our government and continues to be; it appears nothing has changed on either side. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU THAT SUCH A "PUBLIC EMBRACE OF THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT [IS] OVER-BEARING" AND THAT "IT HINDERS MORE THAN IT BEARS". Our government has not learned from its past mistakes and continues to "dig in its heels", which seems to be its usual reaction....

Dr. Pipes, you are the voice of both knowledge and reason; I wish you continued strength and wisdom. Our government is deaf, blind and impotent.
