Reader comment on item: Hugging Iraq's Leaders

What Middle East government was selected more democratically? Israel? Was the election bogus? Did some group other than the insurgents try to interfere with the election?

Granted it is desirable that the government seem to be Iraqi and not a puppet of the U.S.

You are the Middle East expert. What do I know?
