Thank you Dr. Pipes for this insightful analysis. I think you have hit the nail on the head here. In the end the Iraqis will have to run their own country. Praise from Rumsfeld would have to be a kiss of death in Bagdad..

There certainly is enough oil in Iraq to pay for a reconstruction there. The government if Iraq however has to have the will to overcome the rampant corruption that robs them of that wealth. /standing on their own will perhaps give them the motivation to do the needful...
