in response to reader comment: Brilliant ad hominem argument - how?

Submitted by Infidel (Canada), May 3, 2006 at 16:49

G. Bisvas has declared himself more intelligent than 54 million US voters. But he doesn’t know how to use a dictionary to learn the meaning of "ad hominem". Oh well, it is not unusual for geniuses to have at least one small flaw. Please Mr. Bisvas, read the following meaning of "ad hominem" and you will become a certified, unparalleled genius. Perhaps some day soon, your name will come to be synonymous with genius, like Einstein. With such unique intellect, you should apply to United Nations for consulting position.

Ad hominem: An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin, literally "argument against the person") or attacking the messenger, involves replying to an argument or assertion by attacking the person presenting the argument or assertion rather than the argument itself. It is usually, though not always, a logical fallacy.
