Great read.

One can't help but marvel at how this came to be - especially, since the Church considered most scientific endeavors (and their inevitable/correct conclusions), as heresy.

Thankfully, free thinkers were amazingly courageous and chose to conduct their experiments and further human knowledge and understanding of ourselves, our planet and our universe, despite the potential consequences to themselves.

Woe to the world that embraces the ways of Islam - or any other myopic, omnipotent "religion," for that matter. It is only through the never-ending quest to expand the boundaries of our knowledge (and the responsible use of that knowledge), that mankind has a "prayer" of surviving much longer.

Kind of funny, isn't it: how the first "right" granted to Man was FREEWILL? And how, since that time, men in power have strived to stifle Man's expression and pursuit of the right?

Funny, i.e.: peculiar . . . and very, very sad.
