Dear Marja , you wrote :

"No battles ever fought in Indonesia?
Don't you ever read the news?
Hundreds of christians have been killed by muslims in Indonesia and churches have been burned."

I am afraid you miss your point here, dear Marja. Our Assim most probably knows the world as explained by such "reliable" sources as 'Al-Jazira' or "al-Manat' . And you may well imagine what "criteria of truth" are applied by these and other Muslim media and what mindset they produce and reinforce.
Besides, as a Muslim he knows better and is always right. Have you ever heard of any
Muslim admiting in front of a kafir like me or you that he's wrong , nay, that he might be wrong?
He would rather cut our throats that admit Muslims are wrong and wrong-doers . Quoting thousands of examples of wrong-doings engendered by Islam will be to no avail , I am afraid.

As a matter of fact , they don't know the notion of history as such. They know only myths (the Quran and all it stands for). Even their greatest "historian" at-Tabari was first of all a Quran interpreter.
History comes from Greek and means something like 'investigation' or 'critical analysis'. It could be born only in a culture where rationality was of high value and socially welcome. Herodotus used his reason and fancy to retell the past of the Hellenes as critically as possible and so got the name of "the father of history"
Muslim Arabs have never reached that level of mental development. They are still pre-rational. Rationality doesn't mean any high social value to them. Blind faith and uncritical repetion on the contrary do. They can't use the critical reason of the kafirs to debunk the myth of Islam. Anyone who'd dare would be long dead before he completes his work.
So what they have is a very narrow primitive mythical world-view they have to defend against any critical assault or approach. The weapons at their disposal are the same as their myth-founder taught them to wield - hatred , intimidation and physical destruction. But the most potent ally of theirs is , alas, the ignorance of so many people of what stands behind this shining glorious facade of Islam. Still not so many realise what Helmut Moltke once wrote about their mosques. They look splendid and rich outside but are empty and hollow inside.
