The invasion of Iraq was about something primal

My theory of the reason for the invasion was this
When Bush actually had his head on straight and his agenda wasnt hijacked by the usual suspects, he saw the Middle East for what it was- a large prison yard with two gang leaders controlling everything. Any newcomer is instructed to take out the biggest guy if need be to make himself the top dog. Bush took out one but failed with the other. Also in Texas and Arab culture you are not respected if you dont strike back at a guy who tried to kill your family (as Saddam did with Bush 41)
However even if the invasion didnt break the Arabs across the Middle East ,the resultant chaos and bloodshed did. I can see this in their everyday body language before and after the invasion. Arab spring was a last gasp of self assertion.
And likely no more trouble for Arabs. Admittedly my take is more intuitive than analytical so theres that.
