You are misunderstanding the Old Testament of the Bible, intensely. I recommend getting a copy of two study Bibles which explain well verses which can be twisted by those who are not scholars or who wish to impeach Christianity or Judaism. One is The Apologetics Study Bible. The other is the Archaelogical Study Bible. Both give clarity and have explanations written by scholars from many different Christian denomonations who have come together with explantions which can be read and understood by anyone who is not a Christian or Jew. For commintted Muslims, Aethiists and others, it will enlighten them as to what others beleive and why, even though the Muslim or Arthiest or other has no interst in beleiving the message of the religion. ( I read the Koran and other religious books for this same purpose.)

There are MANY historical events described in the Bible which are NOT God's decision or will (and in fact illustrate the concept of mankind's free will). Even prophets of the Old Testament made errors and sinned. Thier sins and their Godly works are told. When a KIng made a decision, that was NOT a decision made by God. In the case of Solomon, he was a sinner. Though he was a brilliant man, he made decisions having to do with his conquered enemies which were HIS decisions alone. You must remember that this period is not a modern period either, so many things which we know today were not even known. There were no antibiotics, the proper cooking of pork unknown and all the rest. God did not give us automatic knowledge of the sciences, he allowed us free will to discover and learn. The Bible, for example told the Hebrews how to treat various diseases, which no modern physicians would apply today. These sort of historic and descriptive passages are not to be read as God given dictates. They are to be read as historic passages.

You know in the case of Solomon, he fell out of grace with God for many reasons. He was a man full of sin. Type in ....Kings 11- Solomon's Decline and Death When you read some of the many sins including his sins of the flesh for having so many wives, maybe you will understand. But then, maybe you do not wish to understand that the Bible is partly just historical events and often those events were man made and wrong in God's eyes.

In any case, contrast in ancient times the custom of enslaving those who have lost a war (and women were given some respect even in that horrible situation....please read...Exodus 21:8

In that verse it clearly states that if a man takes a slave as a wife and she does not please him...HE MAY NOT sell her. He must free her (redeem her). Since he did not fullfil the contraxt of marriage, his penatly was to free her.

Also read Deuternnomy 21:10-14. Enslaved women taken from the defeated and desired ny a Jew for a wife were given a month of mourning and had to shave their heads and trim nails (to take away their beaiuy temporarily). This month was a cooling off period for the man. No intercourse was allowed. If he then still mayy's her and it does not work out...he MUST free her and NOT trear her badly.

in any case, Christians and Jews realized 200 years ago that slavery was wrong (free will). We realized this even before we knew not to "bleed" people when they were ill and before we realized that women should be educated to the same level as men and were as smart and capable as men.

Never in the Bible is a stiuation diescribed where Jews purposely went to an area ONLY to kill all the men to take all of the women to be sex slaves to be passed around to at least 11 men and gang raped.

That is exactly was ISIS did. There was no oil or other riches in the area of Mount Shingal except for pretty blond women. These evil ISIS men went there ONLY to get women to rape and abuse and murder ....if they do not do the abominabl e sexual acts they beat them into. Some of the women have escaped and told the story. Others are just missing. You are hust plain wrong. There is no doubke standard
