But since you have, let me point out that you show just how far some people are prepared to go to make a false equivalence between the Judaeo-Christian and Islamic civilizations. Firstly, the 19th century history shows a very strong moral component to the campaign against slavery since banning it was against Western countries' economic interests (at least in the short term). Secondly the references in the Old Testament haven't been used as justification for slavery for a long time. I call that progress.
